About Me

I was once a teenage girl who cringed at the thought of waking up early just to put on some mascara and lip gloss before school. I hated the idea of wearing anything on my face and didn’t even getting make overs from friends at slumber parties. My how things have changed!

I bought my first lipstick with some tip money I had made from my shift at Starbucks before class one fall day of 2013. I had worn makeup a number of times in my life, but it was never for the fun of it. I was a competitive dancer my entire childhood, and big false lashes, fake hair pieces, bright red lipstick, and overly blushed cheeks were the bane of my existence. I swore to never do it on the daily. But something changed when I graduated high school and went off into the real world. I can’t exactly pinpoint what it was, but something inside of me didn’t feel right. I was missing something. I didn’t have a hobby or a passion. And something just told me that one day to go and buy a cheap red lipstick. My life was forever changed.

Okay, so I sound a bit dramatic, but it’s true. I started saving up all my tip money, and every single day (yes, every day), I’d go into Walgreens next to campus and pick out something new. It was usually a lipstick. Occasionally an eyeshadow. By the end of the semester, I was broke and drowning in a sea of cheap lipsticks in every color. It was a journey that I’ll never regret, trying to discover what I liked and what I didn’t, what worked with my skin tone and what just looked flat out terrible. I finally had something I loved doing and collecting, and I still feel the same rush of excitement over new products. (I’ve just gotten better at saving for more high-end 😉 )

And this, my friends, is what has lead me to be here today.

So, you probably clicked this page to learn a little bit about me and why I started this blog. I’m Kaylee. I’m a 22 year old Texan currently living in Germany with my husband and two fur babies. Our move here wasn’t for the luxury of traveling, but hey, I’m not complaining! I’m living the dream. I was fortunate enough to keep my job despite

I was fortunate enough to keep my job despite moving, and now work from the comforts of my home. With that being said, I’ll admit that it’s been a rough adjustment. My husband works long hours during the week, and since I work from home, I don’t have the time to get out much. I became very bored, and created an Instagram account to connect with people who shared the same love for makeup as me. I fell in love with having an online community, and thus began my YouTube and Blogging journey! I have a background in marketing and currently, work for a wedding website you might have heard of. Social media and advertising are my passion! I’m a freelance graphic designer on the side and love to make logos.
