Happy New Year! I hope everyone is having a great start to 2018. 2017 was actually a pretty great year for me all around, and I’m so excited to see what these next twelve months bring me. I wanted to sit down and write a quick list of the highlights of 2017, and my goals for 2018. If you’re interested in reading my 2017 highlights and 2018 goals, you’re in the right place!
Highlights of 2017
1.Getting serious about my blog
2017 was the year I grew my Instagram account to more followers than I could have imagined, and decided to get serious about blogging. It’s been an amazing experience so far, and I’ve learned so much about myself as a person (I need to get better at setting goals for myself and I’m slightly lazy, for example… ha).
2. Brands Believing In Me
I never in my life thought I’d ever receive items for free. But this year, I’ve made it onto several PR lists and have been sent generous amounts of products from brands to review. I cry every single time I get something in the mail. Words can’t even express how grateful I am to brands for believing in me and supporting me as a small beauty blogger. I spend a ridiculous amount of money on makeup to review and try out, and the fact that these brands see my hard work and respect my opinions means the world to me. Never would I brag about receiving free items, but it definitely helps me continue to bring fresh content to my brand and it’s ever so helpful.
3. The friendships I’ve made
I also never thought I’d create such strong friendships within the beauty community. I’m a military wife living overseas working from home, so my social life is severely lacking. I’ve made so many friends on Instagram and I’m so thankful to have others to talk to who share the same passions as me. They keep me going on days where I just want to give up, especially with the new Instagram algorithm. So thank you. Every single comment and message brings a smile to my face, as cheesy as it sounds. I appreciate you all so much.
4. Having the income to support my blog
I’m not rich by any means. But I am blessed to have two steady incomes that can support not only my small family but also my hobbies and passions. I may not be able to spend tons of money on high-end products often, but I know I’m lucky to have extra income to purchase items not only for the blog but also for my own personal enjoyment. I sacrifice in other areas (I only buy clothes on sale and don’t purchase brand names), but I’m happy to spend my extra cash on beauty products.
Goals for 2018
1. Continue to bring new content on a regular basis
I’ll admit I’m not the best with keeping up to date or posting consistently. It’s one of my top goals for 2018 to post content regularly and continue to update you on the newest launches and releases.
2. Start my YouTube channel back up
It’s been months since I’ve posted a video. I have so many plans and content ideas. I will be posting at least 1-2 videos per month this coming year.
3. Finally get winged liner down
Okay, this is a silly one. I still for the life of me cannot get anywhere near perfect wings. I like to blame the shape of my eyes, but let’s be real I just suck. One of my makeup goals this year is to perfect the art.
4. Bring YOU what you want to see
While I love to post about stuff I want to talk about, I also want to make sure I’m providing you with the content you want to see. If you ever have any ideas, suggestions, or requests, PLEASE let me know. I am open to any and all ideas.
I cannot thank you enough for being here on this journey with me. Every single reader holds a special place in my heart. It means so much to me that you care about what I have to say. So thank you, thank you, thank you. I hope you’ll continue to stick around. Let’s make this year better than the last.
Much love,
Kaylee Bee
