September 2016 Beauty Favorites! Shopping my stash and rekindling old loves.

Posted in Beauty, Favorites

Hello bumble bees! I’m so happy it’s October! I’m not a die-hard Halloween fan, but we’re one month closer to my favorite season! (Christmas!!!!)

September was a very long, very weird month for me. I am still new to Germany and spent most of my month alone as my husband had some training to do across the country. No biggie! Just meant I was extra busy keeping up with my pups and didn’t have much time for a full face of makeup. That being said, I don’t have as many favorites as I’d like this month. I did discover some awesome products that help create a quick makeup look that I would love to share with you today! None of these products are new to me. In fact, I’ve been shopping my stash quite a bit as of late and I’ve fallen back in love with some gret products. So if you’d like to discover what I used and recommend last month, please keep on reading.

This first product isn’t a new product for me, but I rediscovered my love for it this month

Maybelline Fit Me Dewy+Smooth Foundation

and actually managed to finish the entire bottle! This is the Maybelline Fit Me Dewy+Smooth Foundation.  I think the main reason this product calls to me as much as it does is because of the color match. I’m in 110 Porcelain and it matches me so well. The coverage is very nice and buildable, and the finish is dewy without making you look oily. I have dry skin so this formula is perfect for me. If you have oily skin, I recommend you pick up the matte version. I will definitely be repurchasing this product very soon!

Next up, we have concealer. I did a ton of research trying to find the perfect drugstore

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser

concealer for my dark circles, and everyone seemed to love the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser Treatment and Concealer (try saying that five times fast). I remember using this wayyyyyy back in the day before I ever even had an interest in makeup. I am so glad I decided to pick it up again. It’s so creamy and easy to blend, has amazing coverage, and really does a good job covering up my bags. It does crease on me, but I’ve never found one that hasn’t.

I’m a huge fan of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade. It was the first brow

elf Lock On Liner and Brow Cream

product I ever tried, and it’s my ride or die. When mine started to dry out though, I just couldn’t justify ordering a new one at the moment. So I picked up the elf Lock On Liner and Brow Cream. I’ll admit, it’s not ABH, but it does the job! It’s long lasting and seems to be waterproof. The color for me isn’t the best match but that’s my fault. Best part is the price! If you don’t want to shell out a ton of money on a brow pomade, I think this is perfect for you!

I have two eyeshadow type products I’ve been loving this month. The first

Smashbox Photo Op Eyeshadow Trio in Filter

is this deluxe same size Smashbox Photo Op Eye Shadow Trio in Filter. I received this in a birchbox awhile back and I’ve been using it a ton lately. The three colors are perfect to use on their own or to pair with another eyeshadow for a pop of color. You have a nice transition shade, a deeper outer corner color, and a white browbone highlighter. All three shades are matte. It’s just such a convenient little palette to throw in your makeup bag. I have considered buying the full size when I hit pan on these (which will be soon) for my travel bag.

Colourpop Super Shock Eyeshadow in Amaze

The next eyeshadow I’ve been drooling over is the Colourpop Super Shock eyeshadow in Amaze. It’s described as a “Metallic rose gold with multi-colored multi-dimensional glitter”. This is the perfect color to pop on the center of your lid. I use it with the Smashbox palette I mentioned above and it’s so quick, easy, and super cute. I’m obsessed with colourpop shadows, but this one is probably one of my top picks. And I mean, who doesn’t love rose gold?

Another empty I’ve worked my way through and adore is the W3ll People

W3ll People Expressionist Mascara

Expressionist Mascara. This is also (surprise surprise) a subscription box item I hadn’t really used before. This mascara has a wonderful wand that really grabs and lengthens every lash. My short stubby lashes really appreciate it. The formula isn’t thick and it works wonderfully on the bottom lashes. This brand is also made out of Austin, Texas, my previous home so I might be a littttle bias. The mini size retails for $12 on their website, which I think is an amazing price for an organic brand. I wouldn’t mind picking up another one after I finish the billions of other mascara samples I have in my drawer!

I was never an eyeliner girl. It was only a few months ago that I discovered a way to make

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper

black eyeliner work on my hooded eyes. And it’s all thanks to my new holy grail Kat Von D Tattoo Liner. Okay, I know this is basically everyone’s favorite, but holy cow does this stuff work! I’m obsessed with how thin the tip is. It makes it so much easier to draw a super thin line that doesn’t accentuate my hood. It’s definitely more than I would like to pay for an eyeliner every couple of months, but I do think that the applicator and the formula make it worth it. (This was again a Birchbox item… Seeing a trend here? I will miss being able to get my hands on BB… Sigh.)

Hikari Blush in Tango

We’re almost done here! Next is a blush I received in my Ipsy bag way back when. I feel like a beauty box spokesperson here! This is the Hikari blush in Tango. I wasn’t crazy about this at first, but the more I wear it, the more I enjoy it. It’s a dark pink matte blush. It’s pretty pigmented and blendable. I like to wear it under a more shimmery blush for some extra color to my cheeks. I don’t find it to be super long lasting, but for some color to your face, it definitely does its job.

Wet n Wild Hollywood Boulevard

Last but not least, my favorite highlighter. I’ve been obsessed with the Wet n Wild To Reflect Shimmer Platte in Hollywood Boulevard (the name is now Boozy Brunch! I have the older Fergie version but it’s the same thing!) This is a beautiful champagne highlighter that isn’t too dark on my pale skin.  It’s so soft and feels almost creamy to the touch. It isn’t chunky either and gives such a beautiful glow. And it’s cheap!

There you have it. My rediscovered loves and beauty favorites of September 2016. Thank you so much for reading. I hope you enjoyed seeing what I’ve been using, and hopefully it inspired you to pick up some of these amazing products! I can’t wait to see what I fall in lurve with next month. Until next time, Stay

Until next time, Stay beeutiful!
